– Amee Runs with Scissors invites you to make some new friends! Not even a little bit creepy, these playful polymer clay insects can be worn as a pin or pendant or even just guard your jewelry box. Appropriate for Adventurous Beginner, this project teaches students how to work in layers, texturizing polymer clay and incorporating crystals, mica-powders and how to make elegant, translucent “wings.” Kits will include polymer clay, crystal components, wire and findings. A basic tool kit will be available for each student to use in class (not to keep) while larger, more specialized tools and materials (ovens, pasta machines, texture plates, mica powders and inks will be made available for students to share in class. Project will be completed in class. Students are encouraged to bring any polymer clay tools – especially texture plates – they may have from home.
